Bravo! International Music Academy

Bravo! International Music Academy is a two-week, education intensive music camp for outstanding young string and piano students from around the world.

Summer Brass Workshop

Presented by Westwind Brass

The Summer Brass Workshop provides student and adult brass players the opportunity to learn from professional musicians in masterclass, sectional coaching, ensemble, and individual and group performance settings. Ensembles will range from large brass ensembles, brass quintets, brass trios, trumpet, horn, trombone, and low brass ensembles. Private lessons also available during the mornings (7/10-7/14) for an additional fee.

San Diego Bass Fest

Presented by the SDSU Community Music School

San Diego Bass Fest is an intense, informative, and exploratory five-day double bass workshop. The San Diego Bass Fest aims to energize and unite the bass community in San Diego and will include internationally renowned bassists and educators to provide one-on-one and group instruction to students of all levels and all ages. Program will include private lessons, group technique classes, solo master classes, Bass Orchestra, and recitals.

Hausmann Chamber Music Program Summer Festival

Presented by the Hausmann Quartet in collaboration with the SDSU Community Music School

An intensive chamber music experience for serious string, wind, brass and piano students ages 12+.* For five days, students will be engaged in a dynamic combination of coaching, classes, performances, and social opportunities. Students will not only make music together, they will form lasting friendships. This year HCMP will also be open to pre-formed adult chamber groups, with an option to participate for less than the full five days.

Dates: June 19-24, 2017

Times: 9am - 3pm (optional supervised practice/additional coaching/sight reading: 3pm - 5pm)

Location: SDSU School of Music and Dance

Cost: $500 (includes $75 registration fee). 'A la carte' daily rate of $85 is available only to adult preformed ensembles. Scholarship information available upon request.

This camp is entering its 29th year serving band students in grades 7-12.  The high ratio of Coaches to students is a plus!  Other features:  Guest conductors, participation by San Diego Symphony Outreach personnel local military band personnel, as well as notable local musicians. Band at the Beach Music Camp was the first and is the oldest music camp in San Diego.

The 7th Annual Parker Summer Jazz Workshop, in partnership with San Diego's House of Blues® and Jazz 88.3, offers middle and high school students an opportunity to study and play music with professional jazz musicians while learning performance skills, improvisation, jazz theory and history.

Students give a closing performance at the House of Blues®, one of San Diego's premier concert venues. We welcome beginning, intermediate and advanced students at this hands-on workshop designed to nurture their growth as musicians, technically and creatively.

Coastal Music Camp (Encinitas)

The Coastal Music Camp was started in 2014 with the goal of providing a high quality summer camp for local instrumental music students in the north county coastal areas.  Camp hours are 9 AM to 12 PM from Monday to Friday. We are also have an optional Jazz Band component in the afternoon.  This is offered as an add-on option for an additional fee.  Students must participate in the morning camp to be eligible for the Jazz Band component.  The Jazz Band will rehearse from 12:30 to 2:00 PM from Monday to Friday.  The Jazz Band will also perform in the Saturday concert.
