PROUD TO BE PART OF MANY GREAT EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS all around san diego and california
WE are so proud to have been part of many great events and competitions all throughout San Diego, California, the U.S. and even internationally. This year, we had performances in the Rady Shell, Jacobs Center for Music and Performing Arts, in the District and more! Among Mission Bay only performances, students also shared the stage with many professional musicians throughout the year!

Mission Bay Music continues to sweep the awards at Music in the Parks, bringing home many trophies this year:
Swing Choir, Jazz Combo and Symphony: UNANIMOUS SUPERIOR RATINGS (highest rating possible)
Brand new JAZZ COMBO scored the highest score in MB history, 99/100 points.
Overall best orchestra
Overall best jazz ensemble
All soloist and accompaniment awards.
PRESERVATIONISTS RETURN TO JAPAN

The Preservationist returned to Japan this year representing San Diego within the San Diego - Yokohama Sister City
Our students had the opportunity to play music throughout the country, explore Japanese cities, and exchange cultures.

MAMBO ORCHESTRA GOES ON THEIR FIRST TRIP TO SAN FRANCISCO
Mambo Orchestra traveled to San Francisco and the Bay Area this year, touring throughout and playing music, learning from some of the best musicians in the area, and getting the experience of a lifetime!

MERAKI CONCERT SERIES 2025
THE MERAKI CONCERT SERIES was a huge success!
As part of our music-business program, the Meraki Series continues to bring amazing events to our community, simultanously providing students an opportunity to learn music as a business! This years series was our best to date, with returning and brand new musicians featured throughout the spring season.
What is the Meraki Concert Series?
Produced by the students as part of the MBHS Music Business Program, the Meraki Concert Series in partnership with Meraki Event Space and Lounge and the San Diego Yokohama Sister City Society, is an exhilarating music series that promises spectacular performances by established and emerging jazz artists.
The program gives incredible opportunities for our students to go behind the scenes to learn how the music business works, from networking with musicians and setting up the venue, to marketing the events and welcoming the audience. All proceeds benefit the Mission Bay Music Program.
