Why Donate?
Winner of the 2020 NAMM Best Communities for Music Education, Mission Bay High School has been serving students from all over San Diego since the 1950’s. The program has grown to serve over 200 students this year under the direction of MBHS graduate and music director Jean-Paul Balmat. The program started as three classes and now hosts eight different ensembles including a wind symphony, two choirs, two orchestras, and three jazz ensembles. The school’s top performance ensembles, the Symphony Orchestra, Mambo Orchestra, Swing Choir and Preservationists, are award-winning and known internationally.
With a tuba costing over $7,000 (THAT’S RIGHT!), we depend on the generosity of our community to help us provide quality instruments, quality instruction and life-changing experiences.
